Thyroid nodules are a common problem in this part of the world.
Ultrasound assists in the diagnosis of nodules and cysts in the thyroid gland
It is a non-invasive, inexpensive way of making a definitive diagnosis of thyroid pathology. It tracks the growth of nodules and cysts when performed serially. Ultraound assists in accurately locating suspicious lesions for biopsy to exclude thyroid cancer.
